Definition
In a skewer two pieces are attacked in a line.
The enemy piece of greater value is in front of the enemy piece of lesser value. When your opponent moves the piece of greater value, then you can capture the piece behind it of lesser value.
In this example the black king and queen are skewered by the white bishop.
