Definition
Pawns can only move forward. They cannot move backwards, nor in any other direction.
The first time a pawn is moved it can move either one or two squares. After the first move, it can only move one square at a time.
Pawns capture by occupying an opponent's square, unless it is an en passant capture.
Pawns can only capture a piece that is ahead and to a diagonal from its current square.
Prerequisites
