Definition
Persuasive writing is a written form used to convince, persuade, and/or argue through logic and reason others that the opinion of the writer is correct or best.
How To Write A Persuasive:
- Choose a topic you're passionate about.
- Determine your stance on the topic (for it, against it, etc.).
- Research both sides of the topic (pros and cons, for it and against it, etc.).
- Outline thesis statement, body paragraphs (main ideas from research that support your stance), and conclusion.
- Write.
- Edit.
Format:
- Introduction paragraph: thesis statement
- Body paragraphs:
- Body paragraph 1
- Main Idea that supports the thesis statement
- Two examples that support the main idea.
- Body paragraph 2
- Second main idea that supports the thesis statement.
- Two examples that support this second main idea.
- Body paragraph 1
- Conclusion paragraph: Call to action for reader to agree with you.
