Teams

Definition

A team is a group of people who independently perform tasks that contribute to accomplishing a common goal.

A team leader is someone who guides, supports, inspires, and motivates people of a team to fully use their potential together toward a desired outcome.

A team member is a participant to the team that uses his or her skills and talents to complete a specific task that contributes to the team as a whole and the common goal.

Teams are most successful when there is psychological safety amongst its leaders and members.

Teams must communicate:

  • What are the functional roles (functions necessary for the team to do its job.)

  • The needs of both the team and personal goals.

  • What behaviors are deemed appropriate.

Ask me to list examples.
